Current Openings at Waconia Comfort
We’re currently hiring for the following positions:
Provide maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of residential and light commercial heating and air conditioning systems according to company standards, delivering a high-quality experience to customers. Assist with training Service Technicians Entry Level – Level 2.
Required Qualifications / Achievements
- Valid driver’s license
- Insurable driving record
- EPA 608 Certification
- NATE CORE + 1 Specialty or NFI Certification
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions
- Meet all qualifications and have all tools required for Service Technician Level 2
- Work from 28’ extension ladder and 12’ step ladder
- Ability to operate power and hand tools safely
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Willingness to invest in tools and training for HVAC service
- Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance independently
- Working knowledge of brazing and refrigeration procedures
- Knowledge of service tools and testing devices
- Strong customer service skills
Desired Qualifications / Achievements
- HVAC Tech School Certificate and/or Equivalent Experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid unrestricted Minnesota Driver’s License
- EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Handling Certification
- NATE + 1 Specialty or NFI Certification
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Arrive at jobsites as scheduled/dispatched
- Relocate between jobsites as needed
- Operate company vehicle
- Demonstrate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Follow instructions from supervisor/dispatcher promptly
- Report issues with company tools or equipment
- Communicate with customers and collect C.O.D. on maintenance visits
- Maintain professional appearance and attitude
- Inform and educate customers about maintenance agreements and additional services
- Complete service-related forms properly
- Program thermostats and maintain/repair a wide range of HVAC systems
- Work on gas hearth appliances, read wiring diagrams, and install low voltage wiring
- Develop knowledge of residential hydronic systems
- Acquire planned maintenance agreements
- Be on call for emergency service as required
- Other duties as assigned
Perform maintenance, repairs, and servicing of gas, electric, and wood hearth appliances in both residential and commercial settings.
Deliver exceptional plumbing services to residential clients, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
The Senior Hearth Specialist is a hands-on expert responsible for the installation, service, and repair of hearth and fireplace products. This role provides technical leadership on job sites, supports quality standards, and mentors team members—without formal management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, service, repair, and troubleshoot hearth and fireplace systems
- Lead job sites by example, ensuring safety, quality workmanship, and customer satisfaction
- Provide on-site technical guidance and mentorship to installers
- Communicate clearly with homeowners about system design and solutions
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, blueprints, and installation documentation
- Ensure compliance with local installation codes
- Complete all install-related paperwork accurately and on time
- Operate company vehicles and tools safely
- Coordinate ordering, scheduling, and service needs for hearth projects
- Educate customers on product options, efficiency benefits, and promotions
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record
- Advanced ability to independently install hearth products
- Ability to work from ladders (up to 28’ extension and 12’ step ladder)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs occasionally
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with hand and power tools

- Willingness to invest in tools, training, and product education
- Comfortable mentoring and supporting team members
Preferred Qualifications
